SJOA SCHOLARSHIP GOLF OUTING
SJOA is an organization operating in Southern New Jersey and was founded in 1954 by a group of guys who wanted to get involved in officiating youth football. Since then, the SJOA has endeavored to have an impact on the lives of young people that reaches beyond the scope of first downs, touchdowns and quarterback sacks.
In this endeavor, we began a scholarship fund 19 years ago and have crafted an entire day around that fund in order to not only raise money but to also interact with the local community through golf, sponsors and volunteers.
This year the event will be held on August 16th at the Valley Brook Golf Course in Blackwood, New Jersey. The event will begin at 1 pm and will be followed by a banquet complete with door prizes, 50/50 and other raffles. .
Since the inception of the scholarship fund, SJOA has given away thousands of dollars to local male and female athletes who qualified and applied for our scholarship. They are free to utilize the scholarship monies for tuition, books, room and board, clothing or whatever other needs arise as the prepare to enter the collegiate academic world.
The most important aspect of this philanthropy is the generous sponsorships that local businesses, like yours, are willing to undertake. Without the benevolence of local merchants and business owners, quite frankly, the scholarship fund would be no more.
